With your big day just around the corner, it’s time to whip your smile into the best shape of its life. You’ll be smiling for thousands of photos in the near future so why not cherish this special moment by looking your best. Nothing says, “I do,” like a mouthful of stunning pearly whites. The earlier you start your smile makeover, the more luminous the results will be. Follow our teeth whitening tips to get the smile of your dreams on your wedding day. True love looks better with white teeth.
1. Avoid Coffe
Coffee and other dark foods and beverages will stain your teeth’s enamel. Certain items such as soy sauce, dark berries, red wine, and certain sports drinks won’t do you any favors on your wedding day. If you’re absolutely addicted to your morning coffee regiment or your late-night wine attack, try drinking your beverage of choice through a straw.
2. Brush with Baking Soda
At least once a week, pour a little baking soda on your toothbrush and scrub away. Baking soda has been proven to whiten teeth and remove tough stains on your enamel. If baking soda gives you trouble, try sea salt instead. Remember to spit or you’ll have a mouth full of sodium. Yuck!
3. Replace Your Toothbrush
Using your tired old toothbrush isn’t going to be nearly as effective as brushing with a new one. Hard stains and plaque need the power of strong bristles. Plus, your old brush is filled with nasty bacteria that will get passed back and forth between your mouth and the brush. As a rule of thumb, replace your brush every three months.
4. Switch to Whitening Toothpaste
If you don’t already use whitening toothpaste, now is the time to start. While whitening toothpaste can’t paint a shade of white onto your teeth, it can remove tough stains before they discolor your smile. However, time is of the essence. Whitening toothpaste is most effective if you use it right after you eat or drink. Remember to brush after every meal.
